Benifits
1 | Natural vitamin C (ascorbic acid) stabilised with glucose: protects vitamin C from high temperature, pH,metal ions and other mechanisms of degradation |
2 | Greater sustained effect than conventional vitamin C: It is hydrolyzed into Vitamin C and glucose by α-glucosidase, the enzyme naturally existing in cell membranes in the body, including the skin, delivering healthier and younger looking skin over a prolonged period. |
3 | Lighten the overall tone of the skin and reduce the pigmentation in age spots and freckles by suppressing melanin synthesis in melanocytes ,reducing the amount of pre-existing melanin |
4 | Brighten dull looking skin; reverse the effects of aging; and provide sunlight protection in sunscreen products |
5 | Sunlight protection: Ascorbyl Glucoside slowly release vitamin C, which ascts as a free radical scavenger, thereby reducing the amount skin inflammation and roughness. |
6 | Anti-aging: Ascorbyl Glucoside slowly release vitamin C which acts to reduce fine lines and wrinkle, resulting in younger looking skin. It promotes the synthesis of collagen by human skin fibroblasts, increasing the suppleness of the skin over a prolonged time of period |

Formulation Guidelines
1. Best pH range
The final pH of the product containing Ascorbyl Glucoside is best to be around pH6.5. Acceptable range of pH is between 5.5 and 7.0
In adding Ascorbyl Glucoside to solution/emulsion, firstly dissolve Ascorbyl Glucoside in water and add citric acid buffer and 10% KOH sol. with stirring. Adjust the pH with 10% KOH to around pH 6.5. Add the resulting solution to the formulation at ≤40°C under stirring.

Citric acid buffer also has chelating effect.
2. Using with polymer
It is recommended to use natural polymer or nonionic polymer. In using synthetic polymer, you might need to be careful to find the best way to formulate it.
3. Chelating Agent
Metal ion can promote oxidation.
4. Anti-oxidant
Oxidation can be one of the cause for discoloration
5. Protect the solution/emulsions from light.
6. Stearic acid might affect the composition of Ascorbyl Glucoside, you might be required to find the best way to formulate it.
